DBT training in New Zealand

Skills Essentials in DBT - Registrations are now open for this two day training on Thursday 26th and Friday 27th October 2017 in Auckland. This two-day event covers the fundamentals of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy skills as well as how to set up and run a group, teach skills and overcome some common skills group problems. Foundational training in DBT - Some places remain for this a five day event for new members of intensively trained DBT teams. Monday 14th to Friday 18th August 2017 inAuckland. This Behavioral Tech licenced event assists teams that have hired new staff or experienced turnover by training newer team members in the standard content of DBT. DBT Intensive with specialist focus on Eating Disorders. We have combined our Foundational training week of 14th to 18th August 2017 with additional training in early 2018 (exact dates TBA) to form an Intensive training open to specialist eating disorders teams who wish to implement DBT in their ED setting. Dr Lucene Wisniewski, a recognized world leader in ED treatment is the lead trainer for the 2018 training component. Other 2017 Events:

  • DBT-Prolonged Exposure - February 12th -15th, 2018 (Auckland). DBT-PE is an evidence based protocol for treating ‘stage 2’ and PTSD problems for BPD and related DBT clients.  It targets stage 1 and stage 2 problems within the first year of treatment and has demonstrated substantial further reductions in suicidal behaviour. We have secured dates with US based Behavioral Tech to bring Dr Melanie Harned (the developer of the DBT-PE protocol) and Dr Lizz Dexter-Mazza for a four day DBT-PE training.  This training will assume a high level of level of previous DBT training.
