Nga mohiohio e pa ana ki tenei mahi (About this position)

iCAMHS is a regional service for children and young people aged up to aged 18 years, who are experiencing serious mental health disorders.

Our multi-disciplinary teams are made up of psychiatrists, mental health nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists and social workers, all trained in a range of treatment modalities.

We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist or Registered Psychologist with at least two years post-registration experience within an iCAMHS, or acute mental health setting. You will bring experience and interest in the mental health needs of children and adolescents. We work closely and collaboratively with other agencies including schools, Oranga Tamariki, Te Piki Oranga, NGOs and GPs.

Suitable applicants will be passionate about providing psychological interventions for children, adolescents and their families.

You will have current registration with the NZ Psychologists Board under the Health Practitioners Competency Assurance Act (2003), hold a current Annual Practising Certificate and have appropriate experience and competency.

You will have up-to-date knowledge of current research findings relating to major mental health issues and trends, and psychological interventions for children, adolescents and families. You will be an active participant in our multidisciplinary team and will be the type of person who fits into a cohesive team culture of collaborative practice, openness, humour, and respect across disciplines. You will engender confidence, trust and rapport with clients, their support networks and other agencies and service providers.

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
