Family Connections Leaders Training - We are pleased to let you know that a Family Connections Leaders Training will take place on 16 & 17 November 2017 in Auckland run by Dr Roy Krawitz. FC is an evidence-based 12 x 2 hr/week program for family/friends of people with borderline personality disorder whose goal is to improve the quality of life of family/friends. Training avilable in DIalectical Behaviour Therapy:

Skills Essentials in DBT - Some places remain available for this two day training on Thursday 26th and Friday 27th October 2017 in Auckland. This two-day event covers the fundamentals of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy skills as well as how to set up and run a group, teach skills and overcome some common skills group problems. DBT-Prolonged Exposure - Registrations are open for this four-day training on February 12th -15th, 2018 in Auckland. DBT-PE is an evidence based protocol for treating ‘stage 2’ and PTSD problems for BPD and related DBT clients.  It targets stage 1 and stage 2 problems within the first year of treatment and has demonstrated substantial further reductions in suicidal behaviour. The training will be provided by US trainers Dr Melanie Harned (the developer of the DBT-PE protocol) and Dr Lizz Dexter-Mazza.  This training will assume a high level of level of previous DBT training.   • DBT Skills Training for Emotional Problem Solving for Adolescents - Friday 16th February 2018, Auckland. DBT STEPS-A is a social emotional learning curriculum implemented in schools in order to teach all adolescents effective emotion regulation, decision making, and problem-solving skills. A one-day DBT-STEPS-A training will be provided by Dr Lizz Dexter-Mazza, one of the developers of the programme. You can read more about DBT STEPS-A here. Other details are yet to be confirmed.
  • DBT for Eating Disorders - March 2018 (exact dates TBC), Auckland. This one-day event will introduce the principles and practice of managing eating disorder behaivours within a standard outpatient DBT programme. The training will be provided by  Dr Lucene Wisniewski, a recognized world leader in ED treatments. Other details are yet to be confirmed.
