STNZ invites you to a one day workshop by

Dr Aline Zoldbrod

Date:          Tuesday 10th March 2020

Venue:       Sorrento in the Park, 670 Manukau Rd, Royal Oak, Green Lane,                      Auckland

Cost:         Early bird until (31 January) $265 (inc GST)

                  Full rate     $305 (inc GST)

What does it take to maintain a vibrant, emotionally open sexuality as part of an intimate relationship? To continue to have desire, to enjoy touch, to allow yourself to feel physical longing for affection and sex, to savour giving to and getting from, to continually be brave enough to ask for what you so desperately long for?    Part of the answer to this vexing problem can be found by understanding sexual trauma in a new way.  Sexual trauma is ubiquitous, affecting a third of our clients and until it is addressed, it makes sexual intimacy impossible.

Aline Zoldbrod’s concept of developmental sexual trauma, which includes broader family-of-origin abuse, will enable you to further understand and help your clients.

In this workshop, through lecture, case studies and demonstration you will:

  • Learn about different kinds of family sexual environments.
  • Review literature, research and cases to illustrate how certain kinds of physical and emotional abuse, family violence and neglect can impact on sexuality.
  • Understand sexual shame in a new way.
  • Learn the Milestones of Sexual Development Model
  • Critically consider models of “normal” male and female sexual functioning and how men and women’s sexual pleasure is stunted by trauma.
  • Identify how trauma is stored in implicit memory in the body
  • Understand and practice using BodyMaps to assess and treat individuals and couples safely.
  • Learn new techniques to help clients heal, explore and experience sexuality and intimacy in positive ways.

Aline Zoldbrod, (Ph.D). is an American psychologist and lecturer who is an expert in field of sexuality.
