|Bio:||As a Clinical Psychologist I can assist with strategies to help you cope more effectively with life issues and mental health problems and overcome barriers that keep you from reaching your goals. My main therapeutic approach is CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy). I have also been trained in ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and incorporate some strategies from this therapy in to my treatment but predominantly I use CBT.
Clinical Psychology training is University based (I studied at Victoria) and incorporates working with adults, offenders children, adolescents and their families. I graduated in 2009. Since graduating I have worked for Child Adolescent Mental Health Services and have done contract court reports for adolescent youth offenders. For the last year I have also done contract work for the PHO (Primary Health Organisation) providing therapy to adults and adolescents.
In addition to my Clinical Psychology Experience I have a Masters in Health Psychology and have a background as a registered nurse practicing in the general medical, sexual health and adult mental health areas.
