|Practice Name:||Zoe Deverick, Clinical Psychologist|
|Bio:||Tēnā koe, I’m Zoe (pronouns: she/her). I’m a clinical psychologist based in central Wellington. I’ve always been drawn to people and spaces that are outside of the mainstream, I value being truely seen and accepted by others, and authenticity is important to me.
You might be wanting to address stress, mood issues, anxiety, or trauma, or you might be questioning big issues like identity, sexuality, or belonging. Whatever your cultural or personal background and current experiences, I will approach you with curiosity and respect for who you are and what matters to you and help you move towards living the life you want.
My experience has been in chronic pain management, child and adolescent mental health, and private practice (mostly older adolescents and adults). I use a combination of cognitive behavioural therapy to understand how thought and behavioural patterns interact with emotions, dialectal behavioural therapy to develop skills to cope with difficult emotions and improve relationships, and acceptance and commitment therapy and mindfulness to help change your relationship with difficult thoughts and feelings.
I'm open to all kinds of folks, and I'm especially interested in supporting people who identify as queer/rainbow, people in non-traditional relationships (e.g., kink, polyamorous) , and those who identify as sex workers.
I'm currently offering sessions via online video conferencing, and am offering a sliding scale payment option for people who's incomes have been affected by covid-19 - please get in touch to discuss this.
