We are seeking motivated Clinical Psychologists to join us at our central Auckland-based private practice - Illumen. The positions are contract positions, and include supervision with senior consulting Clinical Psychologists, professional development, and full administrative support. You will receive a steady flow of varied referrals suited to your expertise. This would be an ideal role for someone wanting to start out in private practice, or is returning after having a break.

About us

Illumen is a private practice based on College Hill, in Freeman's Bay. We receive referrals from psychiatrists, GP’s, and self-referrals, presenting with a range of issues including the full spectrum of mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, adjustment, personality difficulties, emotional dysregulation, stress/burnout etc. We see a range of clients from different walks of life – the referrals are quite varied.

 

We also have contracts with several Auckland based corporate firms and companies, such as law firms, to provide employee support services. We have administration staff who provide full admin support. We are a social and collegial team, and run regular peer supervision sessions.

 

Role

  • To deliver evidence-based Psychological interventions for a variety of referrals (typically self-referred or via local GP’s or specialists).
  • Full support would be given regarding admin, invoicing, and record keeping, so you can focus on delivering high quality clinical interventions without all the hassle.
  • Weekdays, evenings and weekend days available
  • Ability to choose your hours

 

Essential

  • Registration with the NZ Psychologists Board under the clinical scope, a current APC & professional indemnity insurance.
  • A minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience in providing assessments and clinical/therapeutic interventions.
  • Can deliver evidence-based modalities, such as CBT, DBT, CAT, ACT, and Mindfulness-based interventions.
  • Willing to working with complex cases, including Axis 2 presentations, and trauma interventions
  • A willingness/interest to participate in peer supervision, workshops, interest groups

 

Desirable

  • Interests in Schema Therapy (Illumen has a strong Schema Therapy focus)
  • Skills in child/adolescent assessment and treatment
  • A willingness to work with teens/young people
