Bio: | Dr. Charlotte Chalmers, Registered Clinical Psychologist, BSC (Hons), DClinPsych, MNZCCP. I grew up in the Wellington area and I completed my Doctorate of Clinical Psychology at Massey University. I then practiced as a locum Clinical Psychologist in London between 2018 and 2020. I have experience in working in clinics, schools, hospitals, government agencies, forensic settings and psychiatric intensive care units. I began private practice work in 2020. I value helping others and this is what motivated me to become a clinical psychologist. I am grateful for the opportunity to meet people and hear their stories. I believe that it is a privilege to walk alongside individuals on their journey of psychological wellness. I emphasise a warm and client-centred therapeutic style, which will be individually tailored to meet your needs and goals. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults. My therapeutic style will meet the stage of life you are currently in. I mostly see individuals, however, if I am working with a child or adolescent, then I will involve their caregivers in the therapeutic process. I work primarily from a Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) approach, incorporating techniques from other approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Interventions and Problem-solving Therapy. My personal interests include spending time in the outdoors, practicing mindfulness, travel, exercise, and my black dog Daisy. |
