| Bio: | I am the Director & Principal Clinical Psychologist at Nurture Psychology based in Parnell Auckland (& with rooms in Wellington & Christchurch). We are a specialist private practice for eating disorders and their co-occuring conditions such as anxiety & mood concern). I have 15 years experience specialising in the field of eating disorders. I love working in this area, and genuinely believe that recovery is possible for every individual. I enjoy working in a warm, collaborative manner with my clients in the context of evidence-based treatment models for eating disorders. I see all presentations of eating disorders including those with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating, and adolescents/young adults/adults with early forms of disordered eating or body confidence concerns. I work with a team of psychologists, all specialists in working with eating disorders. I trained in eating disorders at the world renowned Maudsley Hospital (King's College London), am widely published in the field and actively involved in both local and international research on eating disorders. Alongside my clinical work, I am a Senior Lecturer in mental health for primary care at the University of Auckland. I am an executive committee board member for the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Eating Disorders, and a member of the international Academy of Eating Disorders and the Eating Disorders Research Society. |
