About
I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and EMDR Institute Trainer. I am also a certified RTEP-GTEP Trainer. See my website for a recent teaching I gave on EMDR therapy in the treatment of addictions at the 2024 Te Manawa Taki Regional Addiction Symposium.
I have worked as a Clinical Psychologist in both England and New Zealand, in public sector, research and in independent practice. In 2013, I co-founded the Norwich Psychology Project, a UK-based independent clinical psychology service, together with Dr Amie Curtis. In 2022, I founded EMDR Foundations, a NZ-based provider of EMDR training, consultation and psychotherapy.
I am based in the beautiful region of Taranaki, NZ. In my private practice, I work with clients and colleagues wherever they are, in-person and online. I offer therapy to individuals aged 16 and over, as well as to couples and families. One of my areas of special interest is in working with mothers and their families when mental health challenges occur during the perinatal period. I also maintain my public health role within Te Whatu Ora Health NZ, working within a community service that supports people with addictions.
With so many of my clients, across all ages and circumstances, I experience time and again the incredible potential in EMDR therapy to help people achieve profound change effectively and safely. If you are interested in working with me as a client, an EMDR training participant or as a supervisee, please get in touch.
