Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki tēnei mahi (About this position)

iCAMHS is a regional service for children and youth with mental health disorders up to aged 18 years. Our multi-disciplinary teams are made up of psychiatrists, mental health nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists and social workers, all trained in a range of treatment modalities. 

We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist or Registered Psychologist with experience within an iCAMHS, or mental health setting. You will bring experience, or an interest in further developing the iCAMHS service to focus on the mental health needs of infants and their parents, and younger age children, as well as working with children and adolescents. Some liaison / consultation with other areas and agencies will be required including working with community services such as Oranga Tamariki, schools, GPs and local Maori networks.

Suitable applicants will be passionate about providing psychological interventions for infants / young children and their families to ensure they get the best start in life. This will include knowledge of attachment and bonding, and the impact of adverse childhood events on healthy development, including emotional wellbeing and relationships.

You will have current registration with the NZ Psychologists Board under the Health Practitioners Competency Assurance Act (2003), hold a current Annual Practising Certificate and have appropriate experience and competency. 

You will have up-to-date knowledge of current research findings relating to major mental health issues and trends, and psychological interventions for children, adolescents & families. You will be an active participant in our multidisciplinary team and will be the type of person who fits into a cohesive team culture of collaborative practice, openness, humour, and respect across disciplines. You will engender confidence, trust and rapport with clients, their support networks and other agencies and service providers.  

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
